The Total Disposal team
Over the past few days, unknown callers claiming to be with Total Disposal and using our phone numbers (spoof calls) have been contacting people regarding credit cards. These calls are NOT from anyone affiliated with Total Disposal or any of the Hiskes Group companies.
If this happens to you, please follow these instructions:
Call us first. If you are not sure about a phone call, please call us at 219-944-1800.
Guard your personal information. Never give personal information, including Social Security numbers and banking information, to unconfirmed sources. As a general practice you should never give personal information over the phone to someone who contacts you. Instead, let the caller know you will call the company back to provide the information. Make sure you call back using a phone number that you know is associated with the company.
Know your payment options. We will never ask for a pre-paid debit card or money gram as a payment method. Occasionally we must call our customers to update a credit card expiration date.
Please remember, the best way for Total Disposal customers to safely view and update their account, including payment information, is to visit totaldisposal.com and register for online access.
Volunteer Day at the Humane Indiana Wildlife and Education Center
On April 7 Total Disposal was super excited to partner with APEX Construction and Remodeling of Highland to support Volunteer Day at the Humane Indiana Wildlife and Education Center. The Rehab Center in Valparaiso works to rescue, rehabilitate and return wild animals to their natural habitat.
Proud to donate our products and services to such a great cause and event!
“At the Top of Their Game” – Carol Hiskes
The following is an excerpt from the article “At the Top of Their Game” by Laurie Wink, originally published in NWIBQ Magazine. Read the full article here.
“Carol Hiskes co-owns Total Disposal with husband Mark. The Gary-based commercial and residential waste hauling business serves Northwest Indiana and South Chicago suburbs. The couple started Total Disposal in 2001 with one truck. Since then, the business has blossomed to include: Blaine Street Partners LLC, a recycling and transfer facility; and Outer Space Mobile Storage, handling sales and rentals of portable storage containers. They’re carrying on a family business tradition that began 30 years ago, when Mark and his brother George worked in the waste management business started by their father.”
